FAQ

Are there refunds if guests leave due to rain? No, but you can check with the ticket booth before you leave Van Buren Acres to see if they will give you a rain check, allowing you to return on a future date.

Can I bring my own food? Absolutely, though we do sell lots of yummy food onsite, including our delicious apple cider slushies, you are welcome to bring your own as well. We have large grassy areas and picnic tables that are available on a first come, first – serve basis.

What age is Van Buren Acre’s most appropriate for? Do adults have to pay to come in? One of the great things about Van Buren Acres is the fact that it offers something for everyone, of all ages, can enjoy.  From babies all the way up to grandma and grandpa, our goal is to make sure everyone in your group leaves with memories to cherish. Thus, yes, all ages, 3 + do pay admission.

How large is the maze? Our large corn maze is about 9 acres. We also have a small story trail soybean maze.

How long does it take to get through the maze? It depends on how many wrong turns you take. The average person will finish the maze within an hour or an hour and a half. The kiddie maze and soybean maze, on the other hand, are much shorter and should only take about ten to fifteen minutes to navigate (the soybean maze is much quicker). Some people have taken a lot longer and a few a bit quicker. For those who are worried about how long it will take to finish the maze, we do have Farm Hands in the maze who can help you find an exit.

Will I get lost? We hope so! It’s designed that way. While everyone does get lost to different degrees, we have designed the maze to be an interactive activity that makes the trip inside the maze more than just a walk through some corn. At the beginning of the maze, you will have the option of picking up a map. Plus, some of our Farm Hands will be in the corn to help you if you need it.

Can I eat the corn? You could, but it would not taste very good. The variety of corn that we grow is field corn for cattle and other animals.

Can I leave and come back later in the day? Yes, you do have in and out privileges for the same day that you purchased your ticket.

Is Van Buren Acres wheel chair accessible? Van Buren Acres is unpaved farm ground, but we do our best to make our event accessible to all of our guests as possible. Wheel chairs, strollers and wagons can be brought and are able to complete the corn maze (weather depending), but the ground can be bumpy in spots. The farm ground is mainly grass with some gravel areas, however, it may be somewhat difficult to push through some areas.

Do you have restrooms? There are porta-potties on site at Van Buren Acres.

What forms of payment do you accept?  We accept, cash and credit cards at our admission window and at the food venues and store. Additionally, we will accept a check with proper identification.

Are pets allowed? Although we are big animal lovers, pets are not allowed inside of Van Buren Acres, with the exception of service dogs. In these cases, we ask that your dog be kept on a leash and that you please clean up any messes.

Do you ever close due to poor weather? Extreme weather can force us to close at any time and an announcement regarding any weather closure will be made. If you are at Van Buren Acres when we close due to weather, you can request a rain check to return another day.

Is there any recommended attire? Because we operate in September and October, we recommend being prepared for the weather. We also recommend wearing closed-toe shoes or sneakers. Remember that you will be in a farm atmosphere and should dress appropriately for the best experience.

What are you busiest and slowest times? Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are our busiest days of the week. Wednesdays and Thursdays are typically much less crowded.
